17' Paulownia Canoe

17' Paulownia Canoe
17' Paulownia Canoe
I started milling the bead-and-cove strips for my canoe on October 31, 2009 and I finished it on June 6, 2010.  Not too bad for only working on it a few hours in the evenings and weekends.  I didn't even touch it for two months during the cold winter months.
The species of wood consist mainly of paulownia with a field of walnut, cherry, purpleheart and pine.  The structural members, including the seats, are made of white ash.

This is by far the most rewarding project that I've completed to-date.  The MAS epoxy and slow hardener that I used did a wonderful job.  I am very pleased with the results.  I've gotten so many complements everywhere I go with this canoe.  Thank you MAS for creating such a great product.

Sincerely,
Eric Porta
